The defendant in the defamation case, Ayu Thalia, dismissed the testimony of Basuki’s son Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) Nicholas Sean Purnama about their relationship, which was said to be just friends. Ayu Thalia mentioned sleeping together.
At first, Ayu Thalia admitted that she objected to Sean’s testimony. According to Ayu, if she was just an ordinary friend, it would be impossible for Sean to call ‘darling’ and ask when she was menstruating.
“I object, because as far as I know, according to what the witness said, he was just a friend, an ordinary friend did not sleep together, an ordinary friend did not chat call me dear, don’t ask me when my menses,” said Ayu in a trial at the North Jakarta District Court, Tuesday (14/6/2022).
Ayu Thalia admitted that she had check in hotel with Sean. He also mentioned that he was brought to sleep at Sean’s house.
“And witness the victim also several times check in at the hotel with me, and as far as I know that only friend, the victim’s witness once took me to sleep at his house,” said Ayu.
Previously, Nicholas Sean Purnama admitted that he was not Ayu Thalia’s girlfriend. He said he knew Ayu Thalia only for business.
Initially, the public prosecutor (JPU) asked if Sean was embarrassed about the news in the media about the alleged abuse reported by Ayu Thalia. Sean said he was not ashamed for not doing it.
“I don’t feel ashamed because I didn’t do that,” said Sean while testifying at the North Jakarta District Court, Tuesday (14/6).
Sean stated that the news regarding the alleged abuse that was revealed by Ayu Thalia had made the public brand him as having committed abuse.
The prosecutor then questioned Sean’s relationship with Ayu Thalia. Sean said that Ayu Thalia was not his lover, but only a business partner.
“I just met the defendant on August 11, it was a business matter. I knew the defendant’s boss, Salim, there was a business matter after that I only knew him and on August 11, the report was on August 27 so you can say that I have only known him for 16 days, only to know him. nor is my boyfriend unrelated,” said Sean.
It is known, Ayu Thalia was charged with a defamation case reported by Ahok’s son, Nicholas Sean. Ayu Thalia is considered to have violated Article 311 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 310 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
