Japanese Woman MRT Project Worker Snatched in West Jakarta, 2 Perpetrators Arrested

Police uncover the mugging case that happened to Japanese woman, Satomi Oki in the Glodok area, West Jakarta. Satomi Oki who is project worker Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) This was snatched by 2 perpetrators after work.

“The victim is a foreign national, namely a Japanese citizen, who works at the MRT under the name Satomi Oki,” said West Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pasma Royce during a press conference at the Tambora Police, Tuesday (14/6/2022).

Pasma said the incident occurred on Monday (13/6) at around 03.00 WIB. Victim robbed when coming home from work.

“The chronology of the incident is that the victim on June 13, 2022, at 3 o’clock, the victim just returned from work, at 3 am due to overtime work in the Glodok area,” he said.

He said the police arrested two perpetrators named Nirwana (22) and Fahrul (20). He named the perpetrators mobile looking for a target then meeting with the victim.

“When he came home from work, the perpetrator, on behalf of Nirwana and Fahrul, was carrying out target-seeking activities, the victim, yes. I met Satomi Oki,” he said.

One of the suspects got down and grabbed the victim’s bag. The suspect then swung the sickle and injured the victim.

“The suspect got off the motorbike and grabbed the victim’s bag and pulled it, so that the suspect Fahrul by using his sickle injured the victim’s head,” said Pasma.

Previously reported, a woman from Japan became a victim of crime in Tambora, West Jakarta. Police said the victim suffered injuries as a result of the incident.

Tambora Police Chief Commissioner Rosana Albertina Labobar confirmed that there were Japanese citizens who were victims of the crime. He said his party would hold a press conference regarding the incident.

“Yes, there are (Japanese citizens who are victims of violent theft), we will release them later,” said Rosana when contacted detik.comMonday (13/6).

The policewoman who is familiarly called Ocha said the victim suffered injuries, but they were not serious. The victim’s reported loss was a cell phone.

“There is an injury, he is injured but it’s okay, it means he is not being treated. (The loss is) HP,” he said.
