Sports studio – Denmark continues to storm

Former tennis star Jelena Dokic (39) says she was close to taking her own life just a few weeks ago.

She tells this to her 300,000 followers on Instagram, writes Expressen.

To the strong, candid message, Dokic posts a picture of himself crying.

Furthermore, Dokic admits that she is struggling with her mental health, which led to her almost committing suicide.

“The last six months have been tough. I have cried constantly and everywhere. I will never forget that day, I just wanted the pain and suffering to end “, she describes, among other things.

The motivation behind the post, Dokic writes, is to encourage others who are struggling to seek help. She emphasizes that people should not feel alone. She also writes that the professional help she received saved her life.

Dokic was born in the former Yugoslavia but now lives in Australia. She won six WTA titles during her career. Both before and during her career, she was beaten and bullied by her father Damir – something she opened up about in her autobiography “Unbreakable”, which came out in 2020.
