This year’s motto will be “Donating blood is an act of solidarity. Join the effort and save lives. WHO wants to highlight the essential contribution of blood donors to save lives and strengthen solidarity in communities.
The specific objectives of this year’s campaign are:
– To thank blood donors around the world and raise widespread public awareness of the need for regular, unpaid blood donations.
– Highlight the need to receive committed blood donations throughout the year, in order to maintain sufficient supplies and achieve universal and timely access to safe blood transfusions.
– Recognize and promote the values of voluntary non-remunerated blood donation in order to strengthen community solidarity and social cohesion.
Our city will adhere to this date in various ways:
– Red lighting of the Municipal Palace.
– Blood donation days from June 13 to 15, with extended hours than usual, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
– Beginning in the current month of training talks on hemodonation in educational institutions, among others.
From the Hemotherapy Service of the Municipal Hospital “Nuestra Señora del Carmen” and the Puente de Vida Group wishes a happy day to all blood donors.
“Our community needs to grow in the number of regular and voluntary donors. Have a safe stock throughout the year. Let’s not wait for them to call us about a family member or close friend who needs to be transfused to do so. Let’s do it spontaneously. Let’s get closer and check the opening hours and any doubts we have regarding blood and bone marrow donation, at the hemotherapy service or on Facebook: CHACABUCO DONATE BLOOD”.
