Russia Says It Can Cut US Power In Just One Step

WASHINGTON – Russia’s decision to stop supplying enriched uranium to US power companies will take many of America’s nuclear reactors offline within a year.

The move will cause electricity price spikes to exceed current price inflation. The situation has the potential to make some areas of the country unable to meet electricity demand.

The results of the analysis were disclosed by The Hill regarding “Russia’s dominance of nuclear power”, reported by Sputnik on Monday (13/6/2022).

The stern warning follows reports last week showing China controls nearly 90% of the world’s supply of rare earth minerals.

That means Beijing could deprive the US military-industrial complex of its ability to produce new weapons by halting exports of those resources.

The report, written by former US Department of Energy Deputy Secretary Paul Dabbar and Columbia University energy researcher Matt Bowen, shows nuclear power accounts for more than 20% of US power generation capacity.
