For those who want to drive a classic convertible this summer, a Mercedes-Benz 190 SL is now for sale at auction. The price is around one million kroner.
The Mercedes-Benz 190 SL was introduced when it made its debut in the 1950s as a budget alternative to the more exclusive Mercedes-Benz 300 SL. But nowadays, the 190 SL is also a very exclusive car for collectors.
Right now, a Mercedes-Benz 190 SL convertible in top quality is up for auction at Unique Car Auctions. With a few hours left of the auction, the top bid is 93,000 euros, corresponding to 978,000 kronor.
This car from 1959 is said to have been sold as new in Colorado, USA but has been renovated several times since then, most recently in 2014 with an update in October 2020. The car is sold by a private collector, complete with manual and register of all service done on it. It is registered in Belgium with the current owner.
The car is beige metallic with a beige soft top over beige upholstery. The engine is a 1.9-liter straight four paired with a manual transmission with four gears. On the meter, it has a mileage of 4,300 miles, of which around 500 were added under the current owner.
