Reye Koranteng (47) is known to people as the moderator of Televizní noviny, in which he brings viewers news from the Czech Republic and abroad. But as private as Lucie Borhy’s (44) partner, he no longer reaches people so often. Koranteng spoke to the eXtra.cz newsroom about his daughters, hobbies, but also his work and the prejudices that people have towards moderators.

Moderator Rey Koranteng he is one of the personalities who has knowledge to give away, which he also demonstrated in the well-known knowledge competition, where he literally amazed at his overview of current events, but also history.
“History is my hobby, then also flying and sports. I’m quite inquisitive and read a lot. When you walk the world with your eyes and ears open, you learn a lot. People may sometimes tend to underestimate news moderators, saying that they are just readers. “and I don’t deny them to let anyone think what they want, but from my point of view it’s more of a funny opinion,” said the moderator for eXtra.cz during the opening of the Tutankhamun exhibition in Brno.
Thanks to the children, I am mentally fresh and young
Rey is the father of three daughters, who share a relatively large age difference, which is one of the recipes for keeping her mentally fresh.
“I have a 26-year-old daughter, 15 and six years old. So we still have a small child at home and I feel mentally fresh and young.” he says that when it comes to learning with children, his wife takes care of it. “My wife is learning more with her daughter. The kids think I don’t have the patience. I don’t think so, “laughs Koranteng, who will probably never meet his daughters in front of or behind the camera.
“I don’t think any of them will go the same way as me. The eldest daughter lives abroad and devotes herself to managerial work, which is her part. I don’t think she will return to the Czech Republic, she is doing well in Finland, but never say never. over time, man changes. “
He doesn’t even sit on vacation for a while
The moderator does not have much free time, but if there is one, he spends it with his family. If he then decides to go to sea, it is definitely not a relaxing affair.
“When I have free time that I practically don’t have, I spend it with my family. When we go to the sea, I’m not the type to fall on the beach and stay there. I don’t like it very much, also what I would do there with this skin color (laughs). So we usually travel, I don’t like being in one place. I can be in the garden once I have time,he says.
Being a moderator is not only a matter of a well-placed voice, but a camera must also love a person in some way. Ideally, the moderator keeps himself in the same ready-made size just because of the suits, which Rey has no problem with.
“I guess it’s genetics and you have to move, too. The job is sedentary, life is sedentary, we’re still sitting somewhere. I like to move and I’ve even gotten to an age where I enjoy gardening. When it comes to sports, I play badminton. Everyone thinks it’s for girls, but I say, but let’s take a look and we’ll say, “ he closed with a smile.
