Group Aertssen will soon be stunting for its employees and relations. On a site at the new location in Verrebroek, Aertssen is organizing a festival with Clouseau, Natalia, Samson and Marie and other top names. Before the opening of the branch, there will also be a panel discussion with Jan Jambon, Bart De Wever, Wouter De Geest and Jacques Vandermeiren.

Aertssen, which is active in transport, earthmoving and cranes, among other things, was named Company of the Year in 2021 and will soon be celebrating its 60th anniversary. And then the new site of Aertssen Transport and Logistics opened in Verrebroek. So much to celebrate and a lot to catch up on. A professionally set up festival is an original stunt. “This event is by invitation, for customers, suppliers and our own employees”, says Yves Aertssen, co-CEO.

“By dedicating ourselves to our people, we make a difference as an employer,” says Aertssen. “We give everyone growth opportunities with our Aertssen Training Center. And there is a lot of room for fun on and off the work floor. In this way we attract new talent and strengthen the bond with our current employees. That is why such an initiative.”

The morning program on the festival site consists of #Likeme, Camille Dhondt, Kapitein Winokio and Samson and Marie. In the evening the roof goes off with Les Truttes, De Grungblavers, Natalia, Clouseau and DJ Avalonn, known from MNM.

The fringe entertainment is equally impressive, with grime, merry-go-rounds and bouncy castles. The moms and dads can chat about food trucks. The Friday before the festival there was already an official inauguration of the new site: Wouter De Geest (VOKA), Jan Jambon (Flemish Minister-President), Jacques Vandermeiren (CEO Port of Antwerp), joined a panel debate on the supply chain. Sam Aertssen (Aertssen Logistics) and Prof. Dr. Christa Sys (University of Antwerp).

Aertssen was founded in the early 1960s by farmer Marcel Aertssen from the demolished Oorderen, who saw new opportunities in the rapidly advancing port. He took it with passion and daring, and the group is now active worldwide with more than 1,700 employees. The second and third generations of the family are now at the top of the company.
