Vilis Bukšs, an observer of nature signs, has revealed in his blog what folk customs and beliefs are associated with June 12.
According to V. Bukšs, June 12 is Rye Flower Day. He also says that this is the last of the bean and buckwheat sowing days.
“June 12 did not go to the forest because the wedding time for snakes. If the rye goes into the ears, the summer mushroom season has begun,” reveals an observer of nature signs.
The next important day is June 15, which is Vītis Day.
“Sunny Vītis for a nice time on the hay, rainy for a rich harvest. After Vītus, you can only mow the grass with a scythe until then,” reveals V. Bukšs.
Forecasting the time in June, V. Bukš writes that in general June is close to average, but with a tendency to cooler.
Precipitation will be within the normal range, but as usual its distribution is uneven.
The following summer months, July and August, appear to be warmer and richer in rainfall. It is possible that in the second half of July we will expect the first plus 30 and if there are, then there will not be much. But this summer there will be a lot of mushrooms …
