The League of Governors was launched, with a focus on federalism

About 16 provincial leaders of the Front of All (FDT) launched the so-called new Governors League in search of “more federalism and national unity”, in the midst of a bid with the city of Buenos Aires for the distribution of resources and the allocation of subsidies to energy and public transport. Also with the promotion of a bill to modify the composition of the Supreme Court of Justice.

Without an act with militants and away from the Justicialist liturgy, the governors of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Entre Ríos, La Rioja, Catamarca, Santiago del Estero, San Juan, Tucumán, Misiones, San Luis, Salta, Formosa, Chaco, Chubut, Tierra del Fuego and Santa Cruz They took another step towards the unity of that bloc and presented the new league to the Federal Investment Council (CFI), which emulates the league of provincial leaders of the PJ.

The 16 leaders that make it up are: Axel Kicillof, Sergio Ziliotto, Gustavo Bordet, Ricardo Quintela, Raúl Jalil, Gerardo Zamora, Sergio Uñac, Osvaldo Jaldo, Oscar Herrera Ahuad, Alberto Rodríguez Saá, Gustavo Sáenz, Gildo Insfrán, Jorge Capitanich, Mariano Arcioni, Gustavo Melella and Alicia Kirchner.

Adapted to modern times, the governors of the FdT chose to publish the document of the founding meeting on social networks and it was the Pampas president, Sergio Ziliotto, who announced on Twitter the text entitled: “For more federalism and national unity.”

The meeting took place at the CFI headquarters in Buenos Aires: some participated in person and others connected from their provinces through the Zoom platform.

The formalization of the League of Governors of the FdT came after they held several meetings —also in the CFI— due to the situation of the distribution of co-participation resources and the legal dispute that exists in the Supreme Court, where the Federal Capital claims funds that were drawn by the National Executive for the payment of the Buenos Aires police and reassigned part of that item for considering them excessive.

Space

In this regard, Kicillof highlighted the launch of the league and shared the founding document with the signature of 16 provincial leaders on his social networks.

“Governors and Governors continue to promote a space for debate, consultation and agreements,” Kicillof wrote in a thread posted on his Twitter account.

In that sense, he argued that it is “a space that does not belong to a particular political party, which represents the interests of all provinces, seeking equitable development.”

Kicillof wrote that “it is time to build structural consensus regarding policies for productive development and the generation of quality jobs.”

“We are studying alternatives to federalize policies that allow us to transform social plans into genuine and decent work,” he stressed.
