KOMPAS.com – The government stipulates price fuel (BBM) type Pertalite the price is still IDR 7,650 per liter, and applies to all gas stations throughout Indonesia.
In contrast to non-fuelsubsidy like Pertamax, which experienced price increases amid rising crude oil prices, Pertalite did not experience price increases.
This is because Pertalite has been designated as a Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP), so the government can regulate it selling price Pertalite. The government chose to hold the selling price of Pertalite this year.
So that the selling price of Pertalite currently has a big gap when compared to its economic price which reaches Rp 12,556 per liter assuming the price of crude oil is in the range of 100 US dollars per barrel.
In an effort to contain the selling price of Pertalite, the government also added a special energy compensation budget for Pertalite by Rp. 114.7 trillion.
Initially, the government did not prepare compensation funds for Pertalite this year. The government has set the Pertalite quota this year at 23.04 million kiloliters (KL).
As of May 31, 2022, the distribution of Pertalite has reached 11.69 million KL or equivalent to 50.74 percent of the stipulated quota.

Currently, the government is implementing a subsidy scheme for goods, so that in the future it is planned to change it to a subsidy scheme for people or a closed system.
This is to ensure that the distribution of subsidized fuel, such as Pertalite, is right on target.
The government through the Downstream and Natural Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) and Pertamina are currently working on technical guidelines so that the distribution of Pertalite can be right on target.
