From Nieuwvliet to Den Helder, from the south side of Terschelling to the north side of Schiermonnikoog, the rescue brigade uses the same colors everywhere to provide beach visitors with information. Even municipalities and water sports clubs have a flag to communicate with sunbathers, swimmers and water sports enthusiasts. The best known is the rectangular flag with a strip of red above a strip of yellow: luckily, there are lifeguards who monitor and intervene if necessary.
