Deadly assault during the night from Friday to Saturday in a bar in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. A man was stabbed to death and another was injured when an unknown man burst into the establishment armed with a knife.
Shortly before 4 a.m., the firefighters and the police were called to the New York Café, located rue Mouffetard. Two men are injured. They suffer from wounds caused by blows from the blade. Witnesses say that, a few minutes earlier, a man approached them before hitting them with his knife.
Several blows to the heart and back
“The first victim received blows to the arm, specifies a source close to the case. The second was struck twice in the heart and in the back”. The two men collapse on the ground and their attacker immediately flees. The firefighters and a team of Samu provided first aid to the one affected in the upper limb who was transported to the Pitié Salpêtrière hospital (13th).
The investigators of the third judicial police district are responsible for carrying out the investigations. A team of technical and scientific police went to the scene to try to discover clues. Bar brawl or score settling? It is still too early to tell as the investigations have just begun. Officials will take statements from witnesses at the scene before sifting through the lives of the victims to try to discover the motive for this crime.
