JAKARTA – Since its launch nine years ago, Telegram has launched many features for its users to get the best messaging experience.
But apparently, Telegram users are still asking for more features. “However, many are asking us to raise the current limit even further,” Telegram CEO Pavel Valeryevich Durov said in a message.
“So we’re looking for a way to let you go beyond what’s already there.”
The problem, Durov continued, is that if telegram removes all restrictions for everyone, the company’s servers and traffic costs will become out of control.
“After giving it some thought, we realized that the only way to get our most demanding fans to get more while keeping existing features free is to make the raised limit a paid option.”
That’s why, Telegram will be introducing the Telegram Premium feature this month. A subscription plan that allows anyone to get additional features, speed and resources.
It will also allow users to support Telegram and join clubs that receive new features first.
Durov said users don’t need to worry about paid features, all existing features in Telegram will remain free, and Telegram will bring new free features in the future.
In addition, users who do not subscribe to Telegram Premium will be able to enjoy several benefits, such as viewing the extra large documents, media, and stickers that Premium users send, or tap to add reactions. Premium is already embedded in messages to react in the same way.
