This Saturday, June 11, the folk ballet “How Many Suns in Us” will take place at the Valka City Open-Air Stage.
At the heart of the content message of the folk ballet’s “How Many Suns in Us” will be the encounter of modern man with the world of the ancient Latvian deities – the Sun, the Moon and the Thunder. The dance performance has been created by well-known and highly valued professionals in the field in Latvia: choreographers and dancers of contemporary and contemporary dance Liene Grava and Reinis Rešetins, musician and composer Kārlis Auzāns, literary critic and screenwriter Lita Silova, director Roberts Rubīns, costume designer and Iveta Pētersone-Lazdāne, artistic director of the dance ensemble “Daiļrade”.
“There are several preconditions why we can call this dance performance unique. Thanks to the perseverance of the dancers and the creative team, it has been able to see the light of day even in the most difficult conditions we live in today. More than 70 dancers will dance this mythical story. Viewers will have the opportunity to experience the first one-act performance of Latvian folk ballet with original music, ”the creators of the show invite.
