UNUSUAL – The story has everything of an anecdote of Charlie and the chocolate factory. Two employees of the American confectionery giant Mars have been rescued after mysteriously falling… Into a giant vat of chocolate, several media reported on Thursday, June 9.
The accident occurred this Thursday afternoon in the factory of the agri-food juggernaut in Pennsylvania, in the northeastern United States. According to Fox News and CNN, two people were rescued and hospitalized after falling into one of the company’s giant vats, which was full of chocolate.
No further details were provided as to why these employees found themselves in such a bad position, unable to hoist themselves out of the vat filled with cocoa.
What about the state of health of employees?
According to the emergency services quoted by Fox News, firefighters had to cut an opening in the structure of the tank to get them out as quickly as possible.
The communication services of the American giant Mars Inc. did not respond to requests from AFP and no details were given to local media on the precise state of health of the two employees.
The Mars family group, whose best-known brands are Mars chocolates and confectionery, Wrigley (chewing-gum), Milky Way, Snickers, M&M’s as well as Uncle Ben’s rice or Royal Canin dog food, presents itself as the world leader in chocolate and chewing gum with an annual turnover of more than 30 billion dollars and some 100,000 employees.
