Apple includes a number of updates on iOS 16. One of them is the iMessage feature that allows users to edit messages that have been sent.
Launch WABetaInfo, a similar feature is apparently also being developed by Whatsapp. The news is known from the screenshot showing the edit options.
Rumor has it that the message editing feature will be worked on by Whatsapp five years ago. However, for some reason Whatsapp has not resolved it.
Meanwhile, iMessage, the iPhone’s default short message feature, on iOS 16 will certainly have this feature. The edit message feature in iMessage will later allow users to edit or change messages even though the message has been sent to the recipient.
The edited message will later have the caption “Edited” next to the delivery status, as quoted 9to5mac. Apple gives a time limit of up to 15 minutes to change messages through this edit feature.
In addition to editing, the new iMessage feature that is present in iOS 16 also allows users to undo sending messages and mark a number of messages as “unread” or “unread”.
