A planet that has two suns like Tatooinewhere the protagonist of Star Wars Luke Skywalker grew up as well as the location of his teacher Obi-Wan Kenobi hiding from the Empire, found in the constellation Cygnus.
Tatooine itself is back in the Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series and has entered the fourth series. The miniseries starring actor Ewan McGregor focuses on the character’s life 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith.
At that time, Kenobi mostly hid in Tatooine which is described as a planet dominated by desert and has two suns.
US Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) then found a planet similar to Tattoine, which was the home of the Jedi from Anakin, Luke, to Rey Skywalker, and named it Kepler 16-b.
In site Officially, NASA says Kepler 16-b, which orbits two stars in the constellation Cygnus, is thought to have conditions similar to Tatooine. “Like Luke Skywalker’s planet Tatooine, Kepler-16b has two sunsets if you can hang on to its surface,” NASA wrote.
Despite having two suns, NASA estimates Kepler-16b has a cold temperature. The planet is also thought to be the size of Saturn and the majority of it contains gas and other forms of rock.
Kepler 16-b, NASA says, “is located outside the habitable zone where water might be found.”
The space agency also calls the two suns of ‘Tatooine’ this real version cooler than the Sun of our solar system. This is predicted to “make the planet lifeless.”
NASA details Kepler 16-b is said to be 245 light years from Earth and has a radius of 0.754 x Jupiter and has an orbital period of 228 days.
The institute discovered Kepler-16b in 2011 using the Kepler Space telescope. Bill Borucki, Kepler principal investigator at the Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California, said the discovery of this new planet could broaden the prospects for life in this galaxy.
“Finding planets could really open up the prospect of life in our galaxy,” said he, who is now retired.

Exoplanets are usually found using data that reveals their existence. Most of the time, experts observe the effects of planets orbiting the star.
