Liputan6.com, Jakarta – TikTok launched a feature that allows users to transform themselves into custom animated avatars. Similar to Apple’s Memoji avatar, Snapchat’s Bitmoji, and Meta’s Avatar.
Collect The VergeWednesday (6/8/2022), this feature is rolling out globally today and is now accessible from the app’s camera, along with various other TikTok effects.
To use the features avatar TikTok it, open the app, flip the camera to selfie mode, then tap an effect, and select an avatar effect.
Users can then use the preset view or press “New” to create a custom avatar.
This feature allows users to customize the avatar’s face shape, skin tone, hairstyle, and accessories including makeup and piercings.
Users can also record videos with avatars, following the user’s movements and facial expressions. As in Memoji Apple’s.
TikTok says it wants to make this feature as inclusive as possible and will continue to improve and innovate to ensure the experience truly represents everyone on TikTok.

Previously, news that TikTok wanted to create an avatar leaked earlier this year. It’s interesting to see that so many social media platforms are now using avatars as a way for people to communicate, without the pressure to do so in person.
