The film directed by Delphine Catagninohis second film after his first feature film “Lo que más Quiero” (Best Film and Best Actress at Bafici in 2010), and after having won the Best Film Award in the Argentine Competition at the Film Festival of Mar del Plata in 2019, will premiere this Thursday, June 9.
Angélica, a forty-year-old woman, takes refuge in her childhood home, the house of her mother who has died a short time ago. This property is sold, and is going to be demolished to make a building. But she occupies it, without her sister knowing, lying and taking possession of it. It is a place stopped in time, as if abandoned, just as she perceives her reality. Blinded by her jealousy of her ex-boyfriend, she decides to go meet that woman and infiltrate her birthday party. There she meets her father, Alfonso, an older man with whom she establishes a love relationship, similar to the relationship in a television series that she watches, just as her mother did. Fiction and reality will seem to intermingle. But soon all her plans are frustrated. She can’t get over her mother’s grief, she can’t be honest with her sister either, and her relationship with Alfonso begins to look more and more like a fantasy. Angelica, gradually, will take the place of her mother. And while she resists the changes, her demolition will continue in her footsteps, becoming a threat to both her sister and herself.
Starring Cecilia Rainero, Antonio Grimau and the participation of Andrea Garrote, Diego Cremonesi y Sebastian Arzeno.
The director tells about her project; “This psychological thriller stems from the inability I felt when I wanted to film my second film, from the fears that the idea of going through such a transformative experience again awoke in me. Circumstantially, a house that was owned by my family was in the process of being sold to be demolished and a new building built. This image seemed to me the right setting to tell this story. The one of a character that has a hard time leaving her past behind her and is making bad decisions that lead her to her own destruction ”.
