Vladimir Zelenski is the world leader with the greatest support among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, according to the data of the Slovak think tank GLOBSEC, BGNES reported.

Zelenski enjoys the support of 66% of Central and Eastern Europeans. He is followed by Enamuel Macron with 61%, Boris Johnson with 57%, Joe Biden with 53% and Ursula Von der Layen with 50%.

In 7 out of 9 countries, the majority perceives Volodymyr Zelensky positively. However, the impact of the Kremlin’s war, propaganda, disinformation and defamation campaigns is being felt in many countries, including Bulgaria, Slovakia and Hungary. In total, 50%, 42% and 40% respectively in these three countries view Zelenski negatively.

The war in Ukraine has affected the perceptions of many world political leaders. Societies as a whole are now more likely to recognize and have an opinion on leaders. In 2021, 24% of Central and Eastern Europeans “know” or “never heard” of Joe Biden, and 35% – of Ursula von der Leyen. These leaders are already recognizable, with additional 14 and 13 percentage points, respectively.
