Saka Targeted by Man City, Walcott Suggests Staying at Arsenal

Jakarta

Theo Walcott suggests Bukayo Saka to stay in Arsenal amid rumors of interest Manchester City. Walcott warns Saka will have limited playing time if he moves to City.

Reports circulating in England claim that City tried to hijack Saka from Arsenal after the flop The Gunners qualify for the Champions League. The Premier League champions are said to have started looking for long-term replacements for Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling.

Bukayo Saka has performed well with Arsenal throughout the 2021/2022 season. The 20-year-old midfielder scored 12 goals in 43 appearances in all competitions.

However, Theo Walcott believes Saka should stay at the Emirates Stadium and continue to be one of the key players in Arsenal’s transition with Mikel Arteta. Walcott said Saka would find it difficult to get a chance to play if he moved to City.

“Obviously when Manchester City call, it’s hard for any player to turn him down,” Walcott told talkSPORT.

“He’s still very young but I think he likes the London area at Arsenal, the fans are amazing and at the Emirates, which is one of the best stadiums I’ve ever been to.”

“He has incredible support and I will be curious. My heart says he will be at Arsenal next season and we’ll see,” continued the former Arsenal player.

“He needs to understand that playing opportunities will be limited at Manchester City. He will, of course, have more chances to win, but that doesn’t mean Arsenal won’t win.”

“I think they are in that phase, they are slowly getting there. They will definitely accept fifth place at the start of the season, seeing how it goes. I hope he will be at Arsenal next season, I’m pretty sure,” said Walcott.
