iOS 16 Allows Gamers to Play Games on iPhone Using Nintendo Switch Joy-Con

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Apple announces a variety of new features and improvements in iOS 16 in their annual developer conference, i.e. WWDC 2022.

In this event, Apple showed how iOS 16 will change how users use their iPhone on a daily basis.

One of those things is playing games. Previously, iPhone users could play games using Xbox or PlayStation game controllers.

Now in iOS 16, Apple seems to have “silently” included controller support Nintendo Switch Joy Con and Pros.

This ability was revealed by Riley Testut, a game emulator developer on iOS called Delta.

In a post on Twitter, Riley said iOS 16 already supports right or left Joy-Con–separately, or both as a single controller.

He also mentioned, gamers can switch Joy-con individually or as a controller.

“Users can sync Joy-con with their iPhone by holding down the screenshot capture and home buttons on the controller Nintendo Switch a few seconds,” Riley explained.

Not only that, Riley also confirmed that iOS 16 also supports the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller.

For those who are already using the iOS 16 beta, you can find these controller settings in the Bluetooth menu under Settings.

Apple said the new public beta version of iOS 16 will launch in July 2022 and will be released globally this fall.

Information, iPhone already supports joystick PlayStation 5 Dual Sense and Xbox Series X since iOS 14.5 released in April 2021.
