The resignation of Maciej Skorża is a real blow for Lech Poznań and a great weakening of the team before the upcoming season. The coach led Kolejorz to the Polish championship and proved that he should still be counted among the best in his profession in our league. He was even named Coach of the Season for the last season.

– Coach Maciej Skorża shared his situation with us. He could count on full support from everyone at the club during this extremely demanding championship season, and also in the last few days when he first signaled to us that he would like to resign. We tried to find a solution that would allow him to continue his work in Lech. Over the last few days we have had many discussions and we believed it would work. With great regret and even a huge shock, we accepted Monday’s final Maciek’s decision that he must leave us. We completely did not expect that this cooperation would be interrupted so suddenly. We understand, however, that football is important because it gives us incredible emotions, but there are matters of much greater importance – said Piotr Rutkowski, the owner of Lech.

Soon, Kolejorz’s players will take part in the Champions League qualifiers. For the first time in seven years, Lech will also defend the championship title in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa games. Currently, it is not known yet who will lead the Poznań team in the new season.
