Profile of Kevin Aluwi, Founder of Gojek who Resigns from Director of GoTo

Kevin Aluwi resigned from his current position as director at PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk (GOTO). The Gojek co-founder resigned from the GoTo board of directors and is rumored to be holding the position of commissioner.

Citing IDX’s disclosure of information, Monday (6/6/2022), Kevin’s resignation was accompanied by the resignation of Caesar Sengupta as Commissioner of GoTo.

“The Company will follow and carry out the provisions stipulated in POJK 33 and the Company’s Articles of Association to hold a General Meeting of Shareholders and seek approval from the shareholders for the resignation and the appointment of Mr Kevin.
Bryan Aluwi as a member of the Board of Commissioners,” the statement read.

The GMS is scheduled for Tuesday, June 28, 2022, while the summons for the GMS will be made starting this Monday, June 6, 2022.

Kevin Bryan Aluwi is the co-founder and CEO of Gojek since October 2019. Kevin led Indonesia’s first unicorn after Nadiem Makarim was appointed as Minister in the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet.

Kevin Aluwi has been working with Nadiem since 2013, or when Gojek was founded. Kevin himself is one of the co-founders of this online motorcycle taxi provider.

He plays a key role in developing Gojek’s products and technology with his background in data processing and business intelligence.

The man who was born on September 1, 1986, plays an important role in strategically adopting business intelligence data to track and optimize several important aspects such as prices, driver-partner income, and in developing customer retention strategies. His role is strengthened by his expertise in developing data science within the ecosystem.

Kevin Aluwi studied at the University of Southern California-Marshall School of Business, in Los Angeles, California, United States with a Bachelor of Corporate Finance, Entrepreneurship, and International Relations. Prior to joining Gojek, Kevin spent two years at Zalora Indonesia as Head of Business Intelligence.

Prior to Zalora, he was a Business Development Manager at Merah Putih Inc. Furthermore he started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Salem Partners LLC.
