WhatsApp will ask you for a second verification code to sign in if you are already using your account on another device.
Over the past few months, WhatsApp has gradually improved the security of its users with the inclusion of new features on its platform, such as the ability to hide your last online time from specific people or a new privacy option in the chats with temporary messages thanks to which the media files you receive will not be automatically saved in the gallery of your terminal.
Well, thanks to the specialized media WABetaInfo, we have just learned that the messaging application owned by Meta is working on a new feature that will prevent your account from being stolen.
The double check code is coming to WhatsApp very soon
WhatsApp is working on a new feature to improve your security on the platform and prevent your account from being stolen: a second verification code.
So, as you can see in the screenshot that we leave you below these lines, when you try to connect to WhatsApp with your account on another device, the messaging platform will require a second verification code to confirm that it is really you try to register your phone number on another mobile.
So, once you have confirmed the first verification code, WhatsApp will ask you for a second 6-digit code which will be sent to you, just like the first one, by SMS to the phone number with which you want to connect to this new device. So, with this new feature, you will know if someone is trying to log into your WhatsApp account and you can stop that person from stealing your account.
WhatsApp is the first instant messaging app to have this feature and it’s a very useful feature, especially for users who don’t have two-step verification enabled.
Do you have dozens of WhatsApp chats open? The app will add a convenient function perfect for you
This new WhatsApp feature is still under development and we don’t know when it will reach all users, but remember that if you want to take advantage of both this feature and other future news before the rest, we recommend to sign up for its beta program.
