NÎMES EN FERIA Bouvine, dancing and sardines as a bonus

Patrick Sébastien’s concert on the forecourt of the arenas of Nîmes was the high point of this feria day, this Sunday, June 5th.

The mass celebrated at 10 am at the Saint-Castor Cathedral and in the presence of groups of Arts and Traditions opened the ball of this day very rich in animations. Further on, on avenue Jean-Jaurès, Émilie and Delphine improvised a rock while waiting for the bulls to be released on avenue Jean-Jaurès.

And it was around 1 p.m. that the bomb sounded, thus indicating the start of the first abrivado of the day – the second took place at 8:30 p.m. at the same place – with the Labourayre manade located in Meynes. During the 4th release, the catchers almost succeeded… Almost because the bull still managed to escape, continuing on its way, guided by the herdsmen.
Back in the heart of downtown Nîmes, on the Charles-de-Gaulle esplanade where Andalusian entertainment has been organized since the beginning of the feria: musical atmosphere, equestrian shows, etc. This Sunday, after 2 p.m., dancers from several associations, including Amapola, put on a show on the stage.
Of course, the bodegas were still full this Sunday. But this evening, a good number of partygoers headed for the forecourt of the arenas. After Bon Entendeur yesterday, Patrick Sébastien came on stage at 10 p.m. Obviously, the spectators were packed like sardines. According to town hall figures, they were 4,000.
And fortunately the singer, impersonator, actor and producer-television host sang his hit – inviting young women from the audience on stage – among others such as The little man in mousse, Oh if you could shut your mouth, Turn the towels and even Happy Birthday.

But it also offered a medley of French songs from the 1970s to residents of Gard and other visitors from elsewhere. The whole assembly resumed in chorus, Manureva, woman i love, Where are the women?, When the music is goodetc. It was enough to raise the atmosphere a notch and make happy those who gathered on the forecourt of the arenas this Sunday evening.
