The Prince of Persia remake changes developers and is further delayed

But in any case, the prince is not canceled.

When The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time-remaken was announced it received scathing criticism. It was admittedly just a trailer, but according to many, the game looked worse graphically than its predecessor. Ubisoft then chose to postpone the game and since then it has been largely silent about the Persian prince’s return. It has even been rumored that the game has been discontinued. However, Ubisoft can confirm that the game is still under development and that it is now Ubisoft Montreal that controls the ship. But they also announce that the game will unfortunately be further delayed.

“The development of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will now be led by Ubisoft Montreal. We’re proud of the work achieved by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, and Ubisoft Montreal will benefit from their learnings as the new team will continue the work to deliver a great remake.”

“As a consequence, we are no longer targeting a FY23 release anymore and the game has been delisted. If players wish to cancel their preorder they are invited to contact their retailer. They will be updated on the project as the development is moving along.”

It sounds on Ubisoft as if the game has ended up in the development hell and will not be released in the near future.
