DARMSTADT – On the third evening of the Schlossgrabenfest, it is Malik Harris who creates the mood from the Merck stage. On the well-filled Karolinenplatz, the audience also listened to his hit “Rockstar”, which the 24-year-old artist performed on May 14 at the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin in front of 161 million people worldwide. The music fans honored the song with big and long applause as well as shouts of “encore”.

For Harris, who comes from Landsberg am Lech, it was the first appearance in Darmstadt. He played songs like “Pleasure & Pain”, “Welcome To The Rumble” or “Crawling” for about an hour. Again and again the soloist encouraged the audience, who complied with his wishes, to sing along – also with his last song “Say The Name”.

After Malik Harris, the Belgian singer Milow performed at 9:30 p.m. In addition to songs from his new album “Nice to Meet You”, the 40-year-old also had many of his older hits with him and quickly got the audience singing along at the top of his lungs. The likeable singer/songwriter also had a small home advantage: his drummer Mario comes from Darmstadt and was particularly enthusiastically celebrated by the audience.
