This year the fair is being held for the 50th time. It offers more than 530 craftsmen, home food and cosmetics manufacturers, publishers and caterers. There is also a cultural program.

Today at 10 a.m. the grand opening of the 50th Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum Fair took place. Historically, a fair is not just a trading venue, but a combination of many different events.

In addition to trade, activities and various events are also available in the museum meadow near the Priede pub, Vidzeme farmstead, near the Liv farmstead and theater performances on the stage of the Western Gate.

Both today and on Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., musicians from various regions will play a green ball in the meadow near the Priede pub, and at 10 p.m.

Today, those who gathered had the opportunity to get acquainted with the big tree, to take part in the opening of the pottery kiln, to watch Rūdolfs Blaumanis’ “Sins of Trine” performed by the Druva Theater of Saldus region on the stage at the West Gate.

On Sunday, June 5, from 11 am to 4.30 pm, folklore ensemble “Tīrums”, senior dance group “Suncele” of Suntaži Culture House of Ogre region, youth and middle generation dance group “Dancītis” and dance ensemble “Dancītis” will perform in Vidzeme farmstead. “and finally the group” Rahu The Fool. “

From today, the exhibition hall of the museum will host the 50th anniversary exhibition “Climbing the Mountain” of the culture and art center “Ritums” and the folk applied art studio “Rīdze”, which will be on view in the museum until August 14.

During the fair, vehicles will be allowed to be parked on the outskirts of the Brīvības gatve carriageway today and on Sunday, in the section and in the direction from the bridge over the Jugla canal to the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum.

Parking will also be allowed on Brīvības gatve, in the section from the bus stop “Open Air Museum” – towards the center – to the bridge over the Jugla canal.
