Around Thouars in particular, the firefighters of Deux-Sèvres report about twenty interventions. Several stores are flooded.
A very strong hailstorm hit the north of Deux-Sèvres this Saturday afternoon. Hailstones several centimeters in diameter fell in particular in the Vrine, Sainte-Verge and Louzy sector, according to the testimonies of several Internet users.
Near Thouars in particular, where the firefighters have identified around twenty recoveries in this very localized sector, significant damage has been reported in the commercial area.
Several brands are affected. The Deux-Sèvres firefighters who are currently intervening have noted water infiltration, rising sewers, roofs pierced by hail and partially or totally flooded premises in a dozen stores. Part of the SDIS rescue center is also right on the water.
At the time of writing these lines, operations are still in progress in this sector. The firefighters have activated their business continuity plan in order to deal with this massive influx of interventions in this department, placed on yellow vigilance during storms.
Damage was also reported on crops in Charente and Vienne. The president of the departmental council Alain Pichon asks this Saturday evening that the state of natural disaster be declared.
