The Pioneers Vorarlberg have announced three new signings for their first season in the win2day ICE Hockey League. With Alexander Pallestrang, Kevin Macierzynski and Patrick Spannring, three experienced Austrians have been signed.
Kevin Macierzynski switched from VEU Feldkirch to Black Wings Linz in 2012 and was most recently involved with the Dornbirn Bulldogs. The 29-year-old has the experience of 456 ICE games and has also played in the Austrian national team. “I just like the vision of the future, that they want to build something new here and that’s why I was there right away,” said Maczierzynski, who scored 49 goals and distributed 91 assists in his career.
With Alexander Pallestrang, a reigning champion is coming to the Pioneers Vorarlberg from EC Red Bull Salzburg. The 32-year-old from Vorarlberg started his ice hockey career in Hard and came to VEU Feldkirch at the age of 15. His first stop was at Black Wings Linz before moving to Salzburg for 12 seasons, where he developed into an absolute top defender. With 750 games in which he recorded 165 points (19G|126A), brings he has immense experience on the Pioneers Vorarlberg team. “I am very pleased that the highest league is being played here in Feldkirch again. It now comes full circle for me in a playful way. I played for VEU Feldkirch in the youth squad and now I’m back as a leading player,” said Alexander Pallestrang.
31-year-old Patrick Spannring from Vorarlberg completes the trio: the Dornbirn-born striker spent his youth at EHC Lustenau and in Dornbirn. With 462 league games at Black Wings Linz and EC iDM heat pumps VSV, he also brings valuable experience to the team. He celebrated his greatest success in 2012 with the championship title in Linz. He moves from HC Thurgau (5G | 9A) in the Swiss League to Feldkirch.
