The Argentine national team secured the CONMEBOL-UEFA Cup of Champions title, which was played again for the first time in 29 years, on Wednesday evening, in which the Copa America winners meet the European champions.
Lionel Messi and Co. clearly defeated Italy 3-0. Angel di Maria, Lautaro Martinez and Paulo Dybala scored the goals for the two-time world champion. Messi was voted player of the match after a strong performance.
After the success, the joy knew no bounds, the Albiceleste celebrated exuberantly on the lawn of London’s Wembley Stadium. Neymar apparently has little to gain from the “Finalissima” title. The Brazilian thought Argentina’s celebrations were overdone.

“Did they win the World Cup?” Neymar scoffed at the celebrations, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 30-year-old may still be annoyed that he and his Brazilian compatriots weren’t playing for the title against Italy, but rather their archrival. The Selecao lost the 2021 Copa America final 1-0 to Argentina (scorer: Angel di Maria).
