Cristiano Ronaldo is aiming to win titles and trophies at Manchester United next season with new manager Erik ten Hag.
He is still “very happy” with the traditional club at Old Trafford, says the 37-year-old Portuguese in a video message distributed by ManUnited on Friday.
Recently there was speculation about a possible change of Ronaldo, since the top English club had missed qualifying for the Champions League.
Ronaldo believes in an upswing again
You have to give the Dutchman Ten Hag, who did “a fantastic job” at Ajax Amsterdam, “time to change things in his own way,” says Ronaldo. “I wish him the best and have faith that we will win trophies next year.”
Under Ralf Rangnick, who is now the Austrian team boss, the Red Devils finished the Premier League season in sixth place and thus missed the attractive premier class. In the coming season, the team under Ten Hag wants to start the next attack.
“For me, the most important thing is to win games and try to win a league or cups,” says the multiple world footballer.
Ronaldo believes Manchester will soon be back ‘where they belong’
The Portuguese played for Manchester United from 2003 to 2009. The top scorer said he was warmly welcomed by the fans on his return. “Obviously I was happy to be back at the club that really pushed my career forward – so the feeling when I came back was amazing.”
