The Slovak footballers won 1-0 in Belarus in their opening match of the 3rd Group of the C-Division of the League of Nations. On the neutral ground in Novi Sad, Tomáš Suslov scored the first national team goal, who surprised the Belarusian goalkeeper with a cross in the 61st minute.

The Slovaks had more of the game in the opening half, but they could not convert the dominance of the ball into dangerous goal opportunities. The Slovak team’s game lacked a moment of surprise and the Belarusian defense did not give it much space. In the near time, the Belarusians were close to the goal, but the goalkeeper Rodák dealt with the Ebonga shot.
Shortly after the change of sides, the Belarusians had another opportunity when Judenkov got to a shot after a rebounded ball, but he missed the goal from inside the sixteenth. After an hour of play, Suslov got on the field when he replaced Schranza and immediately entered the goal list. He was looking for Almási for a long time, but he did not hit the ball, but it still ended behind Pavljučenka – 0: 1. Fighting football, in particular, continued to be played with the attentive defense of both teams. The Slovaks remained active, but the Belarusians also posed a significant offensive threat, whose best chance was not transformed by Shevchenko in the 83rd minute, when he shot a goal from a volley. In the end, the Slovak footballers guarded a close lead without any major problems, thanks to which they entered the League of Nations with a narrow victory.
