Prince Andrew tests positive for coronavirus and misses Queen’s thanksgiving | NOW

Britain’s Prince Andrew has tested positive for corona and will therefore miss the thanksgiving service to be held Friday at St Paul’s Cathedral in London. It is being held on the occasion of the reign of his mother, Queen Elizabeth. The Duke of York discovered his infection after a routine test.

According to Sky News Andrew has been around Queen Elizabeth for the past few days, but not since he tested positive. On Wednesday, he was photographed riding his horse at the royal estate in Windsor.

The Thanksgiving service was probably the only part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations that Andrew would attend. For example, because he is no longer an active member of the royal family, he was not present at the festive military parade on Thursday.

Andrew was discredited in 2019 when American Virginia Giuffre claimed that he abused her years ago when she was still a minor. The case came to an end in early March when the prince paid a settlement amount. Andrew has always denied to date, but did resign from his royal duties.
