The facts occurred on Sunday May 29 in Bordeaux (Gironde). The public prosecutor in Bordeaux Frédérique Porterie indicates that “The respondent was arrested in the minutes following the commission of this crime thanks to the responsiveness of the victim who called the police services and the intervention of the latter, present not far from the facts”.
Suspected of having raped a septuagenarian in Bordeaux, he admits to having fallen in love with her
The suspect is a 29-year-old man from Mayotte. During his police custody, continues the prosecution, the twenty-something admitted “the facts, claiming to have fallen in love with the victim after having crossed her in the street”. The individual was already known to the authorities, with three mentions present in his criminal record: theft in a meeting and rebellion with a weapon in 2014 and use of narcotics in 2018. So far, however, he had not been unfavorably illustrated for sexual violence.

The police custody of the defendant was extended and the prosecution intended to open, on Tuesday afternoon, a judicial investigation with a request for placement in pre-trial detention. The departmental security was in charge of the investigation. As for the victim, she was taken care of within the framework of the EVVI system (EValuation of VIctims, or personalized evaluation of victims).
