District administrators appeal to test the Frankenbahn with the 9-euro ticket

The district administrators Christoph Schauder (Main-Tauber-Kreis) and Dr. Achim Brötel (Neckar-Odenwald-Kreis) call on the citizens, especially from the neighboring communities, to use the regional trains of the Frankenbahn between Lauda and Osterburken intensively. The following information is taken from a press release from the Main-Tauber district office:

“The regular hourly regional train service can only be maintained if the trains are used intensively from the area,” say the district administrators. This applies above all to the regional trains between Osterburken and Lauda, which are now entering the decisive period for the transition from trial operation to permanent operation.

Replace the car with the Frankenbahn

“We therefore appeal to all citizens not to miss this opportunity and to use the nine-euro ticket for test drives in the summer months,” said the two district administrators. The journeys with the regional trains are also an attractive alternative to the car in the long term. “The regular tickets for the Rhein-Neckar transport association are also very cheap, especially if you use them regularly,” said the two district administrators. The journey to Würzburg is possible without having to change trains.

The 9-euro ticket can be used from June 1st to August 31st. It is valid throughout Germany on all local buses and trains and costs nine euros per month.

Due to the initiative of the Main-Tauber district, the Neckar-Odenwald district, the neighboring communities, the citizens’ initiative “Frankenbahn für alle” and numerous citizens from the region, an additional offer with regional trains between Lauda and Osterburken was set up for the first time in December 2019 . Since then, the regional trains have been running every hour from Monday to Friday between around 5 a.m. and 9.30 p.m.
