The Bank Account is not a simple advanced “tool” to “put one’s finances aside” but something much more rooted and “profound”, which is much more widespread than not too many years ago. This trend has manifested itself mainly due to two reasons, the increasingly constant presence of multimedia technology, such as smartphones and computers, and the will on the part of the latest governments to “convert” with increasing frequency to electronic money.

The offers relating to the opening of current accounts are actually several, and the simplicity in the management phase has also increased. But what are the limits on the amounts? Like any other form of similar instrument, current accounts are also subject to controls by the Revenue Agency, and more specifically, by the UIF, i.e. the body responsible for searching for transactions that may indicate money laundering activities. . During the withdrawal phase, there are no real problems, as the limit linked to cash is still difficult to exceed for most account holders: it is a threshold calculated on a monthly basis equal to 10 thousand euros, which triggers anti-money laundering controls only if exceeded.

However, a few small precautions related to the context of credit transfers are necessary: if within the SEPA area the transfers are kept “under control” without particular problems (in fact there are no limits linked to the amounts that can be “moved” through bank transfers), it is necessary to try to highlight any type of incoming bank transfer, especially if it exceeds 15 thousand euros, if this is made from non-European countries, therefore outside the aforementioned Sepa Area. If this does not happen, the credit institutions themselves recognize the amount that can be considered suspicious: there are also very high fines up to blocks on the account, if it is not possible to prove the origin of these amounts.
