Phoenix are back with ‘Alpha Zulu’, their first song in five years

Exactly five years have passed since the French quartet led by Thomas Mars left us his latest installment in long-play format. That I love you (Loyalty/Warner, 2017), marked by that freshness so defining of the band was, with the exception of Identical (a single that was part of the soundtrack of “On The Rocks” of Sofia Coppola) the last time we heard from Phoenix. Until today, when we dress up to receive as it deserves its formal return with Alpha Zulu.

More electronic than ever and with wisps of dark club flavour, Alpha Zulu It refers to the phrase that the vocalist heard from a pilot during a somewhat bumpy flight. Mars has also confessed his fear of flying and how this situation inspired the lines of this new track. The band’s frontman has also added that they have just finished recording their long-awaited new album, so we take it for granted that these French electropop figures will promise us more news soon.

Phoenix they will be playing in our lands the next 11th of June on the occasion of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Primavera Sound.
