Densus 88 Reminds People to Beware of the Muslim Khilafatul Group

Jakarta – Head of Operations Assistance (Kabagbanops) Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police Kombes Pol. Aswin Siregar reminds the public to be wary of groups Khilafatul Muslimin.

The Khilafatul Muslimin group recently went viral after doing convoy using a motorcycle in the East Jakarta area carrying the caliphate attribute, Sunday (29/5/2022).

“For the community or anyone who joins the group, that group has a long history of links to various terrors and radicals,” Aswin said when confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/6/2022).

He explained that historically the Khilafatul Muslimin Group had a connection and had a direction with terror events in Indonesia. The leader of the Khilafatul Muslimin, Abdul Qodir Baraja, was arrested by Densus because of the previous terror incident.

Abdul Qodir Baraja, said Aswin, once joined the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) group.
