DSC Arminia Bielefeld has signed the first newcomer. Silvan Sidler is moving to Ostwestfalen on a free transfer from Swiss Super League club FC Luzern, where the 23-year-old right-back has signed a contract until June 30, 2025. In the future he will play with shirt number 22.
“We are very pleased that Silvan has chosen Arminia. He is a flexible full-back who, at 23, still has great potential for development. Both offensively and defensively, he stands out with his high level of activity. We are convinced that he will quickly adapt to the requirements of the 2nd Bundesliga,” said Samir Arabi, Sporting Director of DSC Arminia Bielefeld.
“It was always my dream to be able to play in Germany and that’s why I’m very happy to be playing for Arminia now,” said Silvan Sidler: “I was in contact with those responsible very early on and we had very good discussions. Arminia is an ambitious club and we have big goals next season.”
The 23-year-old has already arranged everything privately: “I’m moving to Bielefeld with my girlfriend. I also spoke to my family. She will come to the SchücoArena as often as possible to support me and us.”
Silvan Sidler has been active for FC Luzern since 2012 and made his debut in the top Swiss division in 2017. In 2021 he won the Swiss Cup with the FCL. Silvan Sidler played a total of 14 games in the U21 national team for his home country.
