Croatian winger Ivan Perisic is already a new Tottenham Hotspur footballer, with a contract that links him to the London club until June 2024, as confirmed by the English team in a statement on Tuesday.
“We are delighted to announce the transfer of Ivan Perisic. The experienced Croatian international will join the club on July 1 following the expiration of his contract with Inter Milan and has reached an agreement that will run until 2024,” Tottenham reported. .
Perisic, who will meet again with coach Antonio Conte, with whom he was already champion of Italy in 2021, scored 10 goals in the 2021-2022 Serie A in a ‘nerazzurri’ team led by Inzaghi that fought until the last day for the title of League.
The Croatian began his career with Hajduk Split and Sochaux before joining KSV Roeselare on loan. In 2009, he signed for Belgian club Brugge, where in his second season he was the top scorer in the League and named Belgian Footballer of the Year.
This caught the attention of Borussia Dortmund, a team with which he won the Bundesliga and the German Cup in 2011, to lift his second German Cup and Super Cup two years later at Wolfsburg. Two and a half years later he signed for Inter, until he returned to Germany on loan for a season at Bayern (2019-2020), where he won the Champions League, the League and the Cup. The following year he returned to Inter.
At international level, Perisic has made 113 appearances for Croatia, scoring 32 goals. He played a key role in the road to the World Cup final in 2018, in which he scored even though his team were runners-up.
“I am very excited to join the Tottenham family. I really wanted to play in the Premier League and come back with Antonio Conte, he lives football every minute. I like his character, we will do great things here,” Perisic said in an interview for the club’s media collected by Europa Press.
