Subaru Solterra, the first electric car mass-produced by Subaru, arrives this summer. The model, with a ground clearance of 21 cm, was developed in collaboration with Toyota. The price exceeds $ 45,000.
The new Subaru Solterra is 4.69 m long and 1.86 m wide, which makes it slightly larger than a Subaru Forester. The trunk has 421 liters.
The new electric SUV has two electric motors, one located on the front axle and the other on the rear. Both have a power of 80 kW and 168.5 Nm, for a maximum combined power of 160 kW (218 hp).
Subaru Solterra has Toyota bZ4x-like components. The Subaru Solterra will be available for sale starting in the second half of 2022 and will be a rival to the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Subaru has introduced its first electric model: the Solterra
Solterra has a 71.6 kWh battery and comes in two versions: one with front-wheel drive and a range of 530 km, while the all-wheel drive version can cover 460 km on a single charge.
The model can also develop 201 horsepower. The car also has an X-Mode AWD setting, which Subaru says was designed specifically for times when the car is on rough roads.
The pattern with front-wheel drive comes with 18-inch wheels as standard, while the all-wheel drive version can be equipped with 18-inch or 20-inch alloys.
Subaru also announces that an 80% battery recharge should take about 30 minutes, as is the case with the Toyota bZ4x.
This new electric SUV is part of Subaru’s long-term strategy. The Japanese manufacturer wants electric vehicles to account for 40% of its global sales by 2030.
