At the Louvre Museum in Paris, France, a man disguised himself as an elderly woman and tried to smear a famous piece of art with a cake, reports The Daily Mirror.
The man tried to break the glass that protects the world’s most famous painting before smearing it with a piece of cake. It is believed that this move could be advertising related to climate issues.
The man jumped out of his wheelchair and tried to break the glass. When it did not break, he smeared the surface with a cake, the investigation source said.
“He didn’t do any damage after jumping out of the wheelchair. It was pretty clear to everyone that he was a man pretending to be an old woman,” the source said. After that, the man smeared the glass with a piece of cake and started throwing roses.
The man was detained by a museum security guard, who quickly removed the glass from the cake and removed the wheelchair left behind by the artwork.
There’s a video on social media that records an incident and one of them records a man shouting in French: “Think of the earth, people are destroying the earth. All the artists are thinking of the earth. That’s why I did it.”
The source of the museum has indicated that the security guards control the situation and the painting has not been damaged.
