According to a study published in the Annals of Internal Medicine, fiber had a positive effect on people trying to lose weight.
The participants were asked to eat a diet containing at least 30 grams of fiber each day.
“In addition to weight management, high-fiber diets may also help prevent type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease,” said Dr. Frank Hu, a professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and professor of nutrition and epidemiology at the Harvard School of Public Health.
