Jakarta –
Ivan Perisic say goodbye to Inter Milan. The Croatian will cross over to England, joining Tottenham Hotspur.
Perisic says goodbye to Inter fans through social media, Tuesday (31/5/2022). His contract with Inter, which expires at the end of this season, will not be extended, because he wants to try out the Premier League for the rest of his career.
“After 254 games, 55 goals, 49 assists, 3 trophies and 18,934 minutes on the pitch, my journey in wearing this incredible jersey is over,” said Perisic in his farewell.
“Although each ending also signals the beginning of a new journey, it is important to reflect on the years already lived and show all of you my deepest appreciation for all the work that has been done.”
“It was truly an unforgettable learning experience for me as a player and also for my family. For the team, staff, all employees and most importantly for the fans: you are always in my heart.”
“I feel privileged to be able to write the name of this club in the story of my career,” concluded the 33-year-old winger.
Perisic has been at Inter since 2015, but was loaned out in 2019 to Bayern Munich. One season there, he won the Bundesliga treble, the DFB-Pokal and the Champions League. The Nerazzurri immediately brought him back after that.
In the last two seasons, Perisic has helped Inter take control of Italy, overturning Juventus’ dominance. The Scudetto in 2021 as well as the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup this season are fond memories he gives to fans.
Perisic moved closer to Tottenham, again working with Antonio Conte. The announcement took place on the same day. He will be contracted for two seasons until 2024. “We are proud to announce the transfer of Ivan Perisic,” read a Spurs statement.
