Spectacular accident at the end of the morning in Chesne, a town located 15 km north of Vouziers: an RDTA bus fell into the canal. He is slowly sinking to the bottom of the water. Navigation is currently disabled. The Graveyard garage must arrive to get it out of the water.
The bus had been parked in the parking lot reserved for coaches, along the canal. The investigation should determine the reasons for the accident. VNF is on site as well as the mayor of Le Chesne, Benoît Singlit. There was no one inside.
The divers from Vouziers and Charleville-Mézières moored the bus from below to be able to get it out of the water. They take care of safety, but also of possible water pollution. The 9-tonne bus was moored by four anchor points. With water, the vehicle weighs at least 19 tons, but the lifting gear can handle up to 65. The tank that contains the diesel oil seems to be tight for the moment.
Shortly before 2 p.m., the first tire is back on the shore. At 2:07 p.m., the lifting operation was completed.
