Russian President Vladimir Putin has set deadlines for his army to take over Donetsk and Luhansk regions in Ukraine, Ukrainian Channel 24 reported, citing sources in the Ukrainian services.
The Kremlin’s plans are to occupy the Luhansk region first, by June 1st. The Russian invaders have managed to take 95% of the territory of Luhansk region so far.
The situation with the Donetsk region is much more difficult for the Russians than in the Luhansk region. Russia’s military leadership has set itself the goal of occupying the entire Donetsk region by July 1.
After being defeated in the Kiev region, the Russian army has now set itself the goal of capturing Donbass. The war has been going on for more than three months. Kyiv has said it urgently needs weapons from the West to repel the occupying army in the east.
