The New York Rangers have reached the finals of the Eastern Conference in the North American ice hockey league NHL.
The Rangers won the seventh and decisive game of the series against the Carolina Hurricanes 6:2 (2:0, 1:0, 3:2) and are thus in the semifinals.
There they play on the night of June 2 (CEST) in the first of a maximum of seven games against the Tampa Bay Lightning, who had won their series against the Florida Panthers 4-0. To get into the playoff finals for the Stanley Cup, four successes are again necessary.
The winner of the championship in the east of the league then meets the champion from the west in the final. The Colorado Avalanche with Nico Sturm meet the Edmonton Oilers with German star Leon Draisaitl in the Western Conference Finals.
